Intel Comet Lake-H Core i7-10750H and Core i5-10300H pay a visit to PassMark — seem to offer nearly 40% and 17% gains over their predecessors

Intel's upcoming 45W 10th gen Comet Lake-H processors, the Core i7-10750H and the Core i5-10300H, have surfaced on the PassMark benchmarking site. The Core i7-10750H seems to offer a nearly 40% performance boost when compared to its predecessor, the Core i7-9750H. The gains brought forth by the Core i5-10300H are comparatively modest when compared to the Core i5-9300H.

The Core i7-10750H seems to offer a nearly 40% performance boost when compared to its predecessor, the Core i7-9750H. The gains brought forth by the Core i5-10300H are comparatively modest when compared to the Core i5-9300H.

         Intel is expected to launch the 10th gen 45W Comet Lake-H sometime in April so it is natural we get to see a few leaks in the run-up to the launch. The latest leak comes in the form of a PassMark benchmark, which shows good gains for the 10th gen CPUs — the Core i7-10750H and the Core i5-10300H.

     According to PassMark's CPU Mark results unearthed by @_rogame on Twitter, the Core i7-10750H scores 16,137 points and trails behind the Core i9-9980HK (17,438 points). However, the Core i7-10750H offers a nearly 40% improvement over its predecessor, the Core i7-9750H (11,617 points). 

  1.       Similarly, the quad-core Core i5-10300H manages to score 9,501 points in CPU Mark. This is a relatively modest uptick in score (~17%) when compared with the Core i5-9300H, which scores 8,125 points in the same test. 

         The 40% performance increase with the 10750H when compared with the 9750H is interesting given that the only major difference between these CPUs is a 200 MHz boost clock in the former. It remains to be seen if Intel has implemented any under-the-hood changes that we aren't aware of yet. Support for faster memory or a more roomy chassis in the test laptop could be contributing factors as well.
